To appear for the UPSC CSE Exam 2025, candidates from the General category must be between 21 and 32 years of age. This means they should have been born between August 2, 1992, and August 1, 2003. The age is calculated as of August 1, 2025, and meeting this UPSC Age Limit 2025 is essential to be considered eligible for the exam.

UPSC Educational Qualification 2025

To appear for the UPSC Exam 2025, candidates must meet the minimum educational qualification criteria set by the Commission which is discussed below:

1. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification.
2. Students who are in their final year or awaiting results can also apply for the UPSC Prelims Exam 2025. However, they need to provide proof of passing the degree at the time of applying for the Main Exam.
3. Candidates with technical or professional degrees recognized as equivalent by the Government are also eligible.
4. Medical graduates who have cleared their final MBBS exam but are yet to complete their internship can apply as well. They must, however, submit a certificate of course completion and proof of qualification from their university/institute while applying for the Main Exam.

UPSC Nationality 2025

To be eligible for UPSC CSE Exam 2025 candidates must fulfill certain nationality criteria which is discussed below:

For IAS, IPS, and IFS

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

For Other Civil Services

The candidate can be:

• A citizen of India, or
• A citizen of Nepal, or
• A citizen of Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention to permanently settle in India, or
• A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire, or Vietnam with the intent to settle permanently in India.
